Again, take your time to determine the best angle and then make the photograph. If you'd have stepped one or two steps to the left, I think the hotel sign and the Milwaukee sign would've come out a little bit better in this photo (either that, or you would've been overrun by a car and be completely flat by now, in which case I forgive you for not taking the extra step
The balcony in front of the sign now takes up quite a big part of the photo. Which would be perfeclty ok if it was an interresting balcony. But in this case, it's not and it even draws the attention away from the main subject(s) of the photo, namely the two signs. IMHO, having a small part of the balcony in your picture would've been a little bit better; there's nothing wrong with a darker area in the photo, which adds to the overall balance of the photo, but it shouldn't draw the attention away from what you're trying to photograph.
Also, if you have a digital camera (but I'm guessing this is a scanned photo made with a normal camera; correct me if I'm wrong
Again, I hope this helps; it's not meant to discourage you, but as constructive criticism

Well, no photo is ever worth being overrun by a cab
Glad you like criticism; the least I can do is tell you what I personally think of your work and how you could perhaps improve it. And then it's up to you to decide what to do with the comments people give you. But I like your work, it shows potential
